lyrics
It must have been easy
For you to get your way
I must have been crazy to let you
Walk all over me
You know I don’t care
What you gotta say to my face
But don’t go talk behind my back yeah
When you’re talking is fake
No one ever taught me how to see myself in a different light
No one ever told me I had to love myself to get it right
You can play it how you wanna
Try to get in my brain
Go ahead and use me baby
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
I‘m not a fighter
I’d rather just take the pain
But now I‘m getting so much wiser
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
You think I don’t know
What you’re all about yeah
You crave the control
You can’t live without it
No one ever taught you how to see yourself in a different light
No one ever told you ya gotta love yourself to make it right
You can play it how you wanna
Try to get in my brain
Go ahead and use me baby
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
I‘m not a fighter
I’d rather just take the pain
But now I‘m getting so much wiser
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
Come out and play come out
Ready whenever you are baby
Come out and play come out
I’m gonna beat you at your own game
You can play it how you wanna
Try to get in my brain
Go ahead and use me baby
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
I’m not a fighter
I’d rather just take the pain
But now I‘m getting so much wiser
I‘m gonna beat you at your own game
Come out and play come out
Ready whenever you are baby
Come out and play come out
I’m gonna beat you at your own game
Memories and Comeback Kid were my first introduction to this band. From then on - I've always gone to the Midnight for easy listening. Waiting for a bus - Standing in line - Going grocery shopping and pretty much everywhere and anywhere. You can listen to this track over and over again and I feel like it doesn't get old. solstra
In Adrian Snood’s songs, soulful vocals and slow-moving alt-pop swirl together to create something distinctly moving. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 1, 2023
